Whether it’s in her role as the program manager for the primary care service line at UNC Health or in her role on the board of directors for the Greater Triangle Area Chapter (GTAC) of the American Red Cross, community is at the heart of Lisa Jordan’s work.

“I pull teams together and make sure we’re advancing our initiatives, but also make sure we keep patients at the center of everything that we’re doing,” says Jordan of her role at UNC Health. “I’m really a convener, a supporter, a collaborator.”

Since 2023, she has brought that same collaborative approach to the board of the Greater Triangle Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. There, she has supported key initiatives and strengthened partnerships between UNC Health and the Red Cross, including spearheading regular blood drives at UNC Health offices in Morrisville. Over the past three years, she has helped coordinate nine drives, engaging more than 200 donors.

“For me, it’s about doing everything I can — using my professional network, skills I’ve learned — to be a better neighbor and serve those that are in need around me,” says Jordan.

With the next blood drive planned for May 2026, Jordan remains committed to supporting the Red Cross and her community, both as an organizer and a donor.

“It aligns with the work that we do,” says Jordan. “The Red Cross tracks your blood units, so once it makes it to a patient, you get an alert. It just makes you feel good. You know you’re actually saving lives.”
